It's Been A While I Know

     I have an apology to make to all my followers. I know it has been a very long time since I blogged. I know some of you out there may be like most of my teachers, accepting no excuses but for those of you that would accept my excuse I think I might have a pretty good one. My junior year has been crazy so far. Crazy but wonderful. Other than school and all my classes I have been busy with my school magazine. I am graphics editor but I also write and design and take pictures. The news season for my church's youth group has also started with the new school year. I love youth and I'm happy to be back in it. I also really like my new small group now that I have moved up to the Junior and Senior girls group. I have also started taking violin lessons from a new teacher who is much more strict. Lastly and most of all I have made my schools fall musical. Nothing huge but I made it into the chorus. It is so much fun but it takes a lot of commitnment. I have rehersal almost every night until at least six.
     As for those little moments of freedom I have recieved I have discoverd some new things I would really like to share. First off have any of you heard of a website called tumblr? I love it :) tumblr.com. Secondly I have been reading... a lot. If you are a fan of the Percy Jackson serires you should check out the Cane Chronicles and the Heros of Olympus series both also by Rick Riordan and jsut fyi the second book of the Heros of Olympus sereis: Son of Neptune comes out TOMORROW AND I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!! I also just finished the 4th book in the Kingdom Keepers serires this weeked, and I also highly recommend that book.
     I am sorry this is kind of a boring post, its mostly a recap of whats been up. Hopefully I'll be able to post more soon. But before I end this post I would like to tell you one thing. Remember my boyfriend Drew? I talked about him quite a bit. Well last Tuesday was me and Drew's one year anniversary :)

Riddle Time!

Riddle! What do a chicken head, pink high tops, and a broken filing cabinet all have in common?

Answer! My Wednesday morning! Woo!

     The pink high tops are just the shoes I'm currently wearing but the chicken head and broken filing cabinet have to do with what we did in Journalism this morning. I spent two full class periods writing a movie script for a movie called A World Without Verbs! Our entire class was the cast and we spent an entire class period filming it. I played the dog and Bobo the 5'10 chicken (which was apparently wearing a floral skirt and pink high tops.) Emily was supposed to play Bobo but she was bein' a fudge butt and refused even after we changed the whole character just cause she refused to be a clown. Oh well. So the movie is about a young boy named named Little Johnny (played by Nurnberg our Journalism teacher.) Little Johnny is frustrated by his verbs homework and wishes for a world without verbs against his grandfathers warnings. But then... Little Johnny wakes up in a world without verbs and it turns out grandpa was right! Dum dum duuuuuuuuuuuum!!!!! Scary I know. So your probably asking the question right now what does a dog and a giant chicken in a skirt have to do with a world without verbs? Well as the dog I was the lovable pet and as the chicken... well as the chicken I was Little Johnny's hallucination. Yeah we come up with some weird stuff to do. So it looks like I have touched on all three of the things in the riddle except for one, the broken filing cabinet. Well we had to find something for Nurnberg to lay on and spin so we went to the shop room and took his rolling filing cabinet and used that. Well after about 4 turns the cabinet broke.... It was ok though one of the kids in my class TJ (who played Grandpa and Little Johnny's best friend Billy) was going to fix it.
     Well I will not be posting for a while after today. I am going on a mission trip and I'm leaving this Friday and will be gone for 10 days. Then I'll sleep the next 3 days after that to catch up. So Farewell for now the world of bloggers! I'll be back :)

School, Shopping, Theatre, And A Happy Book

     I hate this end of school, dragging on, slower that a slug pulling a 20 pound weight along sand period. My school gets out June third so I'm down to 8 school days!!! It feels like forever though. Its like in those movies where someones dreaming or something and their running down a hallway but it never gets any shorter. Doors are rushing past you but you never seem to make it any farther down the hall. If I'm that person running I am starting to lose my stamina and I'm about to pass out! Most of my teachers aren't too bad. Keeping it simple, not too much homework, and what-not. The only problem is my English teacher/ class. Somehow she thinks we are going to finish the book The Chosen in 8 days. We were supposed to read the first four chapters by today and from everyone I talked to, I'm pretty sure I'm one of two of the people who actually read the chapters. I'm also pretty sure I'm the only person who did the worksheets. We had four chapters and 3 worksheets due today plus I had an Algebra test this morning, ugh! so basically I was up until midnight and still didn't get all the work finished. I did finish the work this morning but I'm now sleep deprived and worn out. This was not my first late nighter from English in the last two weeks either. Last week the band Third Eye Blind was having a concert in my town. Considering no one cool ever comes to my town I had to go. I bought two tickets (one for me and one for my cousin Marissa) the day they went on sale. I was SO excited! Then my English teacher assigned a project on Wednesday that was to be due Friday and the concert was Thursday. Crap. So what did I do? Blow off the project like most teenager coming home from a concert at 10:30 PM tired and with a stomach ache? Nope. That annoying little goody-two-shoes inside of me was screaming "NO! You must finish your project! You can't turn it in late! NO!" So, I stayed up until 2 AM that night and still did not finish the stupid project. AND I had already worked on it for 5 hours before I even went to the concert. So I worked on it all day in any free time I could possibly scrounge up during the school day. Then after 10 hours of works, sleep derivation and my hand looking like a bag of skittles from the magic markers I used, I was finally done with the project. So to sum up all this rambling and ranting I just did: English sucks, I'm an extreme goody-two-shoes, and school cannot end fast enough! Phew sorry about that, I needed to let that go before my brain exploded like a grape being sat on by the worlds largest (and heaviest) teddy bear.
     Now that I'm back to a normal brain functioning state, I can tell you about my weekend. I had a great weekend!!!! Friday night me, my mom, my dad, and Drew watched Tangled. Have you seen that movie!? I love that movie!!! IT was the third time I've seen it and I still laughed out loud! **SPOILER ALERT! IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN TANGLED DO NOT READ THE SECTION IN ITALICS** So I feel the need to share my favorite parts of this movie with you. So favorite song? I've Got A Dream. My favorite scene? When Rapunzel and Flinn are in the boat and they are completely surrounded by the floating lights! So cool! I decided after that, that my wedding will have a ton of lights! So many lights you may say there are too many lights!!! (If you haven't already guessed I love lights.) You know I think I'm going to write a blog post about my dream wedding someday but for now back to Tangled. The funniest part in my opinion? When they go into the Snuggily Duckling (I love snuggily ducklings.) and she meets all the thugs and they sing about what their dreams are. My favorite thug? It's a tie between the one who collects unicorns and the one who wants to be a mime. Favorite character? Pascel the camelion, I love him. Favorite quote? "Is that blood in your mustache sir? Look at this Blondie, look at all the blood in this mans mustache. That is a lot of blood." said by Flinn. Ok I'm done now. Back to my weekend. That Saturday I was woken up at 7 AM (ugh!) and me, my mom, my aunt, and my cousin Marissa headed off to this city a few hours away from my town. The entire way there my mom and aunt were singing oldies. Most teenagers and young adults would be completely embarrassed and be driven out of their minds by this but me and my cousin loved it. We were singing right along with them. Songs by the Carpenters, The Four Seasons, George Harrison, and many others. Once we finally made it to our destination we went shopping. The enjoyable pass time of many girls around the world. We shopped and shopped and shopped. I got to go to Urban Outfitters. Have you been to that store? I love that store! I wish we had one in my town. Finally we had to leave so we headed to our hotel to change and then met my aunts two friends to go eat then we went to see.... *Drum roll* Jersey Boys!!! If you don't know what that is, I'm sorry. I loved that show! It's now tied for my second favorite musical with The Music Man after Legally Blonde the Musical. If you know me and my love for musicals that is a very high honor. The show was amazing!!!! Great music, great story great acting! If you haven't heard of it here is an informational video. Like I said, I loved it! Then after the show we were parked next to the stage door and when we were walking to our car we saw the guys leaving and I got all four of their autographs!!!! It was awesome! Just FYI the guys in the video are not the ones I saw. I saw a different cast but I loved the cast I saw. The next day all we did the next day was again shopping. We went to a different mall and shopped and shopped and shopped. It was awesome. I ended up buying this thing called The Happy Book. Its full of all kinds of prompts for you to write about what makes you happy. I decided to share a couple of the prompts with all of you when I find one I really like so you can all do it with me! I will also share some of my answers to the prompt :) Well I've written a lot and if you've made it this far I thank you! and congrats on being a Dailey Hailey super fan! So I borrowd some athletic Adidas sweat pants and a soccer jacket from my friend Marissa who's on the soccer team and carried around a coffee cup :)

Crossbar = LAME! ..... By Hailey :)

So we had to write movie reviews for my journalism class. I thought I'd share it with you :)

Crossbar = LAME!

How would I describe the made-for-Canadian-TV movie “Crossbar” in one word? Olympic? Inspiring? Touching? Not so much.

Who was Kim Cattrall before she was sex crazed Samantha Jones of “Sex and the City”? She was just Katie, the bipolar Canadian, starring in “Crossbar.” As the “Olympic love interest,” Kim Catrrall did not win the gold medal of my opinion.

But she wasn’t the only one on the “Crossbar team” to not win that gold medal.

Who was Brent Carver before he was Gandolf in “The Lord of the Rings” musical? (The musical not the movie.) He was the “corny afro-tastic Aaron”.  With a role as prestigious as Gandolf, you know he had to be amazing in his early work-right? More or less.

In this movie Aaron, a young Olympic high jumper struggles to deal with the loss of his leg and with his own personal problems as well as trying to convince his skeptical father that he is not a freak but the same guy with a dream he has always been.

What stuck out most to me about the character of Aaron, was his mega perm. Really I didn’t see anything too special or interesting about this character. Though being good with one leg, Brent Carver did not impress me at all in this roll. As far as his acting style goes, I think someone should have stopped him and made him aware of the fact that yelling doesn’t make a moment more dramatic, only loud.

Where the character of Katie could have been very good as a sweet, helpful type of girl, Cattrall portrayed her as bipolar and completely off her rocker, between pushing a guy with one leg into a river and then later telling him she loves him but she doesn’t want to be with him and that she’s leaving for France, but not really, she’s just going to stay with him instead. In the end I was more scared of Katie than touched by her help to her co-star Aaron.

Although the acting wasn’t the only thing to stand out in this movie. There were other components to this film and all its “glory.”

As for the music, that is one soundtrack I will not be buying. The music was too over dramatic and reminded me only of the music people hear going up in an elevator.

I know this movie was based on a farm in the ‘70s but come on people! When the movie first started, I thought I was watching “Attack of the Flannel Shirts” not “Crossbar.”

But if you are a fan of slow-motion close-ups of people in deep thought, this is a movie for you. 

It would be very hard to describe this movie in one word; I can’t choose between the words Lame and Bland. 

NURNBEAR!

So in Journalism we were assigned to go on photoshop and make a picture of some sort of animal holding and/ or using a deadly weapon. It was so funny!!! Then when we were done we got to just mess around on photoshop. So I came up with some hilarious photos. Here's a few:

Me and Amy's animal with a weapon was a bear holding a shark shooting laser beams. I got the idea from Drew. Every time we say goodbye we say "watch out for snakes and bear's with sharks." The bears with sharks apparently came from a movie but I don't know it. I just started saying that cause Drew always said it and it became a habit of my own.

This. Is Nurnbear! I just took the picture of the bear I used for my assignment and put my journalism teachers head on it and took the picture of the coffee cup he always carries around and put it in the bear's hand. He's funny and cute and fluffy all at the same time in this picture!

This I took a picture of a kid in jail and put my friend Amy's head as the kids head. We always make jokes that Amy was in juvie and I call her juvie kid on a regular basis so its our inside joke.

This is another picture I did of my journalism teacher. I while back we came up with a joke of making a My Little Nurnburg doll (Nurnburg's what we call him.) Well Ta-da! My little Nurnburg! :)

This is the animal with a weapon picture my friend and classmate Rebecca made. Its an alpaca with Snape from A Very Potter Musical's head on it, with a sword.

     So now I'm in debate class. The seasons pretty much over so its a pretty low key class now-a-day's. I just got finished with this stupid, jank assignment we got. Wow I can't believe I just used the term "jank"... I'm ticked. lol. Well spring break is tomorrow! Woo! I can't wait! I NEED this break!!! I'm not really going anywhere but I'll be happy to be able to chill out and not be as stressed about stuff. I don't really have any plans at all for this spring break except writing a History paper on Theatre of the Elizabethan era/ Elizabeth I. Although me and Drew are trying to make a plan to spend an entire day watching all the Star Wars movies from beginning to end. I haven't seen any of them yet and that fact needs to change. Also I think I'm going to my friend Sydney's sweet 16! Woo! Other than that I have plans for sleeping, sleeping, and sleeping some more. I miss sleep.

     So have you seen Shakespeare in Love? If not, and your age 17 or older, YOU NEED TO SEE IT! If your under 17, maybe not... at least talk to your parents of their opinions on you watching an R rated movie. Anyway I love that movie! I love romance movies, comedy's, movies with historical stuff (yeah I'm a nerd), filled with amazing wonderful literature. Ever since the movie I've been thinking in old Elizabethan sounding speech. Like using lots of metaphors and using words like "doth" instead of does. I'm a nerd :/

     So I'm not suite sure how to end this post so....

The Awesomenss That Is Roncorn!

Yes, that is Ron Wealey's head on the body of a unicorn. The best part about this is this is what we were supposed to be doing during class!!!! We were told to make a combination of animal and human (wizard). A tad disturbing yes but awesome :)
